Books Selected for the 2008-2009 Season
I'm excited about the great books we will be reading this year! As always we meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Barnes and Noble near the cookbooks. January 15 - Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague by Geraldine Brooks
February 19 - The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
March 19 - The Coffee Trader by David Liss
April 16 - The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
May 21 - The Road by Cormac McCarthy
June 18 - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows (This is a change. Previously we had Edgar Sawtelle, but Sheila read it and said long sections about dog grooming were boring.)
